WE'VE COME UP WITH 50 GREAT ENERGY SAVING TIPS, CAN YOU HELP US REACH 100?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

South Gloucestershire Council is serious about reducing our own climate change impact and helping our residents to do the same.

In the council’s own buildings we have set challenging targets to reduce energy use every year. To achieve this we are running energy campaigns with staff, improving insulation and installing solar water heating in three of our main offices.

We are also making sure the new schools we build are efficient and always look at renewable energy options when building or renovating schools. We already have three schools heated by systems that use waste wood, avoiding the use of fossil fuels, and have five more in the pipeline for the next year.

To help you reduce your home energy use we are making free energy advice and insulation grants available. Call 0800 512 012 or visit www.souhglos.gov.uk for more information. We also want to make installing renewable energy sources, like solar panels, in your home easier. Over the winter we will be launching a free, independent renewable energy advice service. There will also be grants available to make renewable energy more affordable. Keep checking www.southglos.gov.uk/climatechange for the latest details and your chance to get state of the art, clean energy.
